Hawaiian Mana Stretch – Active Rest
Hawaiian MANA Stretch is a stretching practice using a pole, accompanied by deep breathing to relax the body. It’s a time to gently pause the movement of your body, mind, and thoughts, and fully connect with yourself. This session provides relaxation and nourishment to your body, mind, and thoughts.

Time: 14:00 – 16:00 (lesson starts at 14:15)
Capacity: 4 participants
Participation Fee: 3,300 yen per session
What to bring: Towel, drink
- Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.
- After the session, let’s share thoughts and any physical or mental concerns while enjoying fermented tea.

October 24th (Tuesday)
Communication with the Body
Through deep breathing and relaxation, take time to discover aspects of your body that you may not have noticed before. Gently communicate with your body and connect deeply with yourself.
November 28th (Tuesday)
Aligning
Using a ball, feel the sensations in your hands and feet, and circulate energy throughout your entire body. This session balances movement and stillness, and also targets the autonomic nervous system to promote relaxation.
December 19th (Tuesday)
Gratitude
Let’s express our gratitude to our bodies for all the hard work they’ve done throughout the year. While stretching, thank every part of your body, including your organs, heart, and mind, and enjoy a moment of deep rest.
January 23rd (Tuesday)
Focusing on the Bones
The ancient Hawaiians believed that bones stored a lot of MANA (energy). During this session, we will focus on our bones, a part of the body we don’t often think about, and release our inherent energy to welcome and enjoy the new year.
February 27th (Tuesday)
Body, Mind, and Thoughts
Using a ball, we will release energy in the face. The body, mind, and thoughts are all connected. This session combines facial techniques with stretching to relax the entire body, focusing on areas that can be incorporated into your daily life.
March 26th (Tuesday)
Connection
As we approach the season of meetings and farewells, reflect on what is important to you and what you wish to protect. When your body relaxes and you experience true rest, you begin to see what you need and what you don’t. Hold on to what’s important as you begin your journey into spring.
INSTRUCTOR
Yuki Yamaoka
A mother of two, Yuki struggled with finding joy in life during her early 20s and discovered the ancient Hawaiian philosophy and Lomi Lomi (traditional oil massage). She learned the importance of caring for the body and mind, which she continues to practice today. In 2018, she opened her home salon, manawa.
